FCCU Hosts Historic 14th Annual Advising Fair at Jim Tebbe Campus Center

Lahore: The Faculty Advising Office at Forman Christian College University (FCCU) successfully hosted its 14th Annual Advising Fair on May 7, 2026, marking a significant milestone as the first such event held in the Multipurpose Hall of the Jim Tebbe Campus Center. The fair aimed to provide students with comprehensive guidance on academic planning and career development, emphasizing FCCU's focus on academic excellence and student success.

According to Forman Christian College, the fair, themed "Faculty Advising in the Changing World - Artificial Intelligence, Advising and Counselling, New Policies and Our Responsibilities," offered a platform for students to engage with faculty advisors and departmental representatives. The event facilitated informed decision-making, reflecting the university's enduring commitment to holistic student development.

The fair attracted students from all undergraduate years to interact in a dynamic learning environment, where Departmental Information Desks provided insights on majors, minors, career prospects, and higher education opportunities. The inclusion of the AAC Degree Audit Corner, Career Services, International Education Office, and other support offices enriched the advising experience.

A notable addition to this year's fair was the inclusion of new academic resources, notably the Centre for Public Policy and Governance and the Department of Global Languages and Cultures, among others. This expansion highlighted FCCU's evolving academic vision and responsiveness to educational needs.

The event underscored the importance of thoughtful academic planning, aligning education with students' aspirations and professional goals. The fair's success was celebrated by prominent university leaders, including Rector Dr. Jonathan S. Addleton and Vice-Rector Dr. Douglas E. Trimble, whose presence reinforced the institution's dedication to personalized academic advising.

At the event's close, Dr. Atiq-ur-Rehman, Head of Faculty Advising, expressed gratitude to university leadership and contributors, emphasizing the fair's role in shaping well-rounded individuals prepared for the future. The fair continues to be a unique feature in Pakistan's higher education landscape, focusing on comprehensive academic advising and student development, as envisioned by FCCU's mission.
