SARGODHA: The University of Sargodha hosted a prize distribution ceremony to recognize top-performing students in its inter-departmental literary and co-curricular competitions. The event was organized under the Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum and featured Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas as the chief guest, with Incharge Public Relations and Publications Muhammad Usman as the guest of honour. Other notable attendees included Dr Muhammad Munir of the Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum and Assistant Registrar Daim Iqbal.
According to University of Sargodha, Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas emphasized the importance of co-curricular activities in developing students’ personalities, creativity, and confidence. He noted that students are excelling both academically and in various creative fields, and highlighted the importance of engaging youth in positive activities for national development. Dr Munir added that the university is committed to providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents, fostering healthy academic and literary engagement.
The competition results saw Ahmad Raza winning the Qiraat contest, with Muhammad Zain-ul-Abidin and Adnan Zafar following. Zaheer Abbas topped the Naat competition, while Shahleen won the singing contest. In speeches, Hamna Azam and Syeda Mehreen excelled in Urdu categories, with Alina Alam and Kisa Fatima leading in English. Essay winners included Sumra Gull in English and Fatima Jameel in Urdu. Syeda Mehreen also won the Urdu Ghazal and Nazam categories, while Tayyaba Ramzan led in Punjabi Ghazal and Nazam. Mayida Batool won the Bait Bazi competition, Manahil Iqbal was recognized for photography, and Aliya Batool and her team took top honours in drama.
