Lahore: The Department of Environmental Sciences, in partnership with the Occupational Health and Safety Office, conducted a Basic Life Support and Fire Safety Training session for BS Environmental Sciences students on May 12, 2026. The training aimed to provide students with critical life-saving skills and was facilitated by officials from Rescue 1122, Punjab Emergency Services.
According to Forman Christian College, the session included both theoretical and practical components, covering essential skills such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), basic first aid response, and fire safety awareness. The hands-on training allowed approximately 20-25 students to engage directly with each skill under professional supervision, ensuring a practical understanding of emergency response techniques.
This initiative underscores the department’s commitment to embedding practical safety competencies into the educational experience, thereby preparing graduates who are not only knowledgeable about environmental issues but also equipped to handle emergencies effectively.
