ISLAMABAD: The Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, announced that a delegation of senior PPP leaders will commence a visit to Gilgit-Baltistan tomorrow in preparation for the upcoming elections. The visit is set to include key figures such as Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, Humayun Khan, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Qamar Zaman Kaira, who will engage in interviews with the party's 'arrow-bearer' candidates from the region.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the Election Board for Gilgit-Baltistan, led by Board In-Charge Ms. Faryal Talpur, has already convened two meetings in Islamabad. These discussions are part of the ongoing efforts to organize and strategize for the elections in Gilgit-Baltistan. Bukhari emphasized the practical steps taken by the PPP in the region, recalling historical milestones such as the granting of voting rights and public representation under Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Bukhari further noted the administrative status granted to Gilgit-Baltistan and the launch of significant public welfare projects by the PPP. Acknowledging the contributions of PPP workers during the Movement for Restoration of Democracy, Bukhari praised their efforts as "historic" and highlighted the warm reception given to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto during her visits.
Looking forward to the elections, Bukhari expressed optimism regarding the PPP's prospects, asserting that the party's candidates are poised for a significant victory. He stated that the campaign is actively underway, driven by the narrative of democratic and public service under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
