IIUI Advances CMS Optimization with Strategic Committee Meeting

ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) convened the second meeting of its Special Monitoring and Supervisory Committee to evaluate and advance the "Optimization and Support Services for the Odoo-Based Campus Management System (CMS)" project. The session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President of Research and Enterprise, focused on addressing key challenges and setting priorities for enhancing the system's performance.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the committee assessed the progress on mapping Student Life Cycle (SLC) processes and stressed the importance of prioritizing tasks with clear timelines. Concerns were raised over how legacy and redundant data were negatively impacting system efficiency, prompting calls for immediate action and necessary troubleshooting.

The newly formed CMS Optimization Project Team presented its initial findings, highlighting issues such as performance bottlenecks, database overload, and misaligned system processes. The committee stressed the need for focused optimization efforts aimed at tangible performance improvements rather than prolonged diagnostic activities.

Decisions from the meeting included prioritizing result submission and processing, implementing software-based solutions instead of hardware upgrades, and stopping report storage within the CMS database. The committee also reviewed fee management challenges, such as duplicate challans and missing reports, directing structural system enhancements for resolution.

The meeting concluded with a collective determination to accelerate the CMS optimization process, particularly concerning SLC-related needs, aligning with IIUI's goals of improving digital governance and academic administration.
