University of Turbat Empowers Balochistan Youth with Skill Development Training

TURBAT: A team of expert trainers from the University of Turbat has successfully conducted skill development workshops for students at colleges affiliated with the university. Led by Dr. Ghulam Jan, Chairperson of the Management Sciences Department, the sessions took place from December 10 to 22, 2025, at Government Girls Degree College Panjgur, Atta Shad Degree College Turbat, and Girls Degree College Turbat.

These workshops were part of the Balochistan Youth Socioeconomic Development Program, an initiative by the Government of Balochistan’s Youth Affairs Department. Liaison Corporation (Pvt) Ltd served as the consultant and implementing partner for this program, which aims to empower youth through integrated initiatives aligned with the Balochistan Youth Policy 2024.

The training was conducted by senior faculty members, including Dr. Waseem Barkat, Mr. Noroz Khan, Ms. Ruqia Mirwani, Mr. Mumtaz Ahmed, and college lecturer Ms. Huma Imdad. The sessions covered a range of topics such as communication skills, leadership, entrepreneurship, career counseling, CV writing, digital presence, and interview techniques.

Dr. Ghulam Jan highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to youth development through these initiatives. According to Dr. Jan, the sessions aimed to help students recognize their potential and prepare for the socio-economic challenges in the region. The university, under Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, plans to continue collaborating with government bodies to empower local youth.

Participants described the sessions as interactive and motivating, noting that the training provided clear insights into career planning and modern workplace demands.
