Karachi: The Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) inaugurated its National High Achievers Ceremony 2025 in Karachi, marking the first of several events to honor exceptional students across Pakistan. This year’s theme, “You Are a Drop in the Ocean,” underscores the Board’s focus on environmental sustainability and collective impact.
The ceremony gathered students from Sindh, Punjab, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, recognizing their exceptional performance in the Secondary and Higher Secondary School Certificate examinations. The event celebrated not only academic achievements but also the values of integrity and service that define AKU-EB’s educational philosophy.
Zia Akhtar, President and CEO of The Citizens Foundation, attended as Chief Guest, emphasizing education’s transformative power. He remarked that dreams combined with a values-driven education can create ripples of community change.
Dr. Naveed Yousuf, CEO of AKU-EB, highlighted the Board’s vision of education as a catalyst for discovery and innovation. He expressed hope that AKU-EB graduates would be prepared not just for success, but to make a meaningful difference in the world.
A student achiever, Esha, echoed the ceremony’s theme, stressing the importance of curiosity and courage. She noted that every individual’s contribution is vital, as small efforts collectively shape the future.
AKU-EB also announced recipients of its merit-based scholarships, including the AKU-EB Meritorious, Bridge, and Jenabai Scholarships. The latest University Destination Survey indicated that 93% of AKU-EB graduates have been admitted to higher education institutions, showcasing strong academic outcomes.
Top universities chosen by AKU-EB graduates include NED University, LUMS, IBA, AKU, and Habib University, further demonstrating the Board’s commitment to fostering educational excellence.
