Bilawal Evokes 1965 War Spirit Amidst Contemporary Challenges

Islamabad: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari invoked the “triumph in the Marka-e-Haq” of 1965, stating that the unified spirit of the populace and the armed forces’ valor demonstrated that the patriotic fervor of their predecessors remains vibrant.

In a declaration from the Media Cell Bilawal House, the PPP leader described September 6th as a symbol of national pride, bravery, and unwavering determination. He emphasized that on this day, Pakistan’s armed personnel, bolstered by the unwavering public support, repelled a numerically superior but weaker enemy. “The essence of September 6 is timeless,” he stated, emphasizing the power of a just cause to overcome any opposition when a nation is united in faith, courage, and resolve.

Bhutto Zardari reiterated the PPP’s unwavering support for the armed forces and the citizens in safeguarding the nation. He highlighted the contributions of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who, as Foreign Minister during the 1965 conflict, became Pakistan’s strong voice globally and, later as Prime Minister, initiated Pakistan’s nuclear program. He also mentioned Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s strengthening of the nation through empowering the people and introducing modern defense strategies, including missile technology. Furthermore, he acknowledged President Asif Ali Zardari’s substantial backing of the armed forces in combating terrorism.

The PPP Chairman called on the people to reaffirm their commitment to unity and resilience on this commemorative day. Acknowledging the present-day difficulties facing Pakistan, including terrorism, extremism, economic hardships, and climate change, he connected the spirit of Marka-e-Haq to the broader fight against poverty, injustice, and inequality. He expressed confidence that, as in 1965, Pakistan can collectively conquer any obstacle and secure a prosperous future.

Bhutto Zardari concluded by paying tribute to the martyrs of the 1965 war and those who sacrificed their lives battling terrorism. He also offered prayers for Pakistan’s continued strength and unity in overcoming all future trials.
