Balochistan’s Public Universities to Adopt New Uniform Statutes

Turbat: A special committee, led by Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat, has drafted a unified set of statutes and rules for all public sector universities in Balochistan. This initiative, executed under the directives of the Honorable Governor and Chancellor of Public Sector Universities, Mr. Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, marks an effort to standardize governance across the province’s higher education institutions.

The draft, completed and submitted to the Governor on August 26, 2025, aims to establish a consistent framework for good governance and quality education. Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, highlighted the significance of this development, noting it as a historic milestone for Balochistan’s educational landscape.

Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan underscored the potential impact of the uniform statutes on the province’s 11 public sector universities. He pointed out that the new rules are designed to enhance transparency, financial discipline, and overall academic standards, thereby promoting financial sustainability and improved educational outcomes.

The initiative reflects the Governor’s vision for strengthened governance and academic excellence in the region, setting a precedent for higher education reforms in Balochistan.
