Council Honors Muharram With Poetic Tributes And Spiritual Gathering

Rawalpindi: A solemn assembly commemorating the tragedy of Karbala, “Mehfil-e-Musalma,” was held at the Adabi Baithak of the Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi, on Thursday, July 3, 2025. The event, organized to honor the sanctity of Muharram-ul-Haram, brought together renowned poets, writers, intellectuals, and community members.

The poetic symposium paid homage to the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his companions. Esteemed literary figure Manzar Naqvi presided over the session, with broadcaster Momin Khan Momin among the distinguished guests.

Arts Council Director Muhammad Shakoor expressed gratitude to the attendees and highlighted the lessons of Karbala, emphasizing the importance of imparting these values to the younger generation. He stressed the significance of learning from the steadfastness and sacrifice of the Prophet’s grandson and his followers.

The program included recitations of Durood and Salam, followed by the distribution of Langar and Niaz-e-Hussain. A traditional Sabeel also provided refreshments to participants. Nasir Ali conducted the proceedings of the event.
