ABBOTTABAD: The second day of the National Karate Championships 2025 concluded with the Pakistan Army taking a commanding lead in the medal tally. Held at the Government Post Graduate College No. 1 in Abbottabad, the event showcased talent from across the nation.
The championships, comprising the 31st National Men’s, 17th National Women’s, and 6th National Cadet and Junior categories, saw intense competition in various weight classes. Day 2 featured contests in Cadet Male below 52 kg and 57 kg, Cadet Female below 47 kg and 54 kg, Senior Male below 84 kg and above 84 kg, and Senior Female below 68 kg and above 68 kg categories.
Additionally, the day included events in Team Kata for males and Individual Kata for females. Participants displayed a commitment to excellence and discipline, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere.
Pakistan Army emerged as the leading team at the end of the day, securing four gold medals. WAPDA followed in second place, with Punjab in third position on the leaderboard.
The competition will resume on June 21, 2025, at 9:00 AM, featuring the remaining Senior, Junior, and Cadet categories. The Pakistan Karate Federation commended the spirit and discipline shown by all participating units and anticipates another engaging day of events.
