Sindh Universities Rally to Support Pakistan Armed Forces

Karachi: Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) joined the Solidarity Rally organized by Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Thursday, demonstrating support for the Pakistan Armed Forces. The event, held from Nishan-e-Pakistan to Clock Tower at Seaview, was led by Sindh HEC Chairman Dr. Tariq Rafi and included participation from vice chancellors and representatives of various universities.

The rally saw participation from SMIU’s Acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Zahid Ali Channar, alongside deans, academic advisors, and a large contingent of faculty, staff, and students. The participants marched in a show of solidarity with the armed forces, underscoring their role in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.

Dr. Channar, speaking to the media, lauded the armed forces for their courage and success in repelling recent Indian aggression. He emphasized the pride felt by Pakistanis in their military’s defense capabilities, highlighting the global awareness of India’s aggressive posturing.

Dr. Channar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, urging India to respect the Indus Waters Treaty and withdraw from occupied Kashmir. He praised the efforts of the Pakistan Air Force in defending the nation, which he described as a source of national pride.

The Acting Vice Chancellor also commended Dr. Tariq Rafi’s leadership in organizing the rally, emphasizing the importance of such events in uniting educational institutions in support of national causes.
