Pakistan Advances to Semifinals at Asian Junior Squash Championships

Hong Kong: Pakistan’s junior squash team has advanced to the semifinals of the 22nd Asian Junior Squash Team Championships 2025 after securing a 2-1 victory over Japan in the quarterfinal match.

According to a statement by Pakistan Squash Federation, Anas Ali Shah led the Pakistani team by defeating Japan’s Renshi Makino with a score of 3-1, securing sets of 11-4, 11-6, 7-11, and 11-8 in a 53-minute match.

In the second bout, Shu Takahashi of Japan overcame Sakhi Ullah Khan Tareen of Pakistan with a narrow 3-2 victory, recording scores of 11-9, 11-6, 2-11, 7-11, and 11-8 over 57 minutes.

Abdullah Nawaz clinched the deciding match for Pakistan by defeating Shunsaku Kariyazono 3-0, with scores of 11-7, 11-5, and 12-10, in a swift 30-minute game.

The Pakistani team is now set to face Korea in the semifinals scheduled for tomorrow. The federation expressed its pride in the players’ performance and extended well-wishes for their upcoming match.
