Faisalabad: The city is gearing up for an exciting start to the Champions One-Day Cup as the UMT Markhors take on the Panthers at Iqbal Stadium this Thursday. This marks the beginning of a high-stakes tournament featuring the top names in Pakistani cricket, with a hefty prize pool and national selection opportunities on the line.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the event will kick off at 3 PM with a matchup that pits Mohammad Rizwan’s UMT Markhors against Shadab Khan’s Panthers, under the guidance of cricketing legends Misbah-ul-Haq and Saqlain Mushtaq, respectively. The season opener is just the beginning of an 18-day cricket extravaganza designed to prepare players for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy and bolster their standing for national team selection.
The tournament promises intense competition with a round-robin format leading to playoffs, culminating in a final showdown on September 29.
