President Asif Ali Zardari Pledges Support to A.Q. Khan Hospital Trust During Meeting in Islamabad

Islamabad: During a significant meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr today, President Asif Ali Zardari assured Dr. Dina Khan, Chairperson of the Abdul Qadeer Khan Hospital Trust, of continued support for the trust’s mission to provide free medical services to underprivileged communities. The trust, named after the late Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, offers critical healthcare services to the marginalized sectors of society.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the meeting highlighted the trust’s ongoing efforts and challenges, with Dr. Dina Khan, daughter of the late nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, leading the delegation. Also in attendance were Ms. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, MNA, trustees Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman, Raja Arshad Mehmood, and Advisor Chaudhry Ghulam Yasir Abbas.

During the discussions, Dr. Dina Khan presented an overview of the hospital’s role and its impact on community health, while also detailing some internal issues, including financial mismanagement by former trustees. President Zardari expressed gratitude for the contributions of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan to the nation and emphasized the importance of addressing the trust’s concerns to ensure it continues to serve the needy effectively.

The President lauded the trust’s work and the public’s generous donations, which have been vital in sustaining the hospital’s operations. He reiterated the commitment to helping resolve any challenges the trust faces, ensuring it remains a beacon of hope for those less fortunate.
