Karachi: Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, alongside top leadership from the Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI), inaugurated a new school on Saturday dedicated to the children of laborers working in the Korangi Industrial Area (KIA). The school, established by the non-profit Green Crescent Trust (GCT) in Sharifabad, aims to provide educational opportunities to the underprivileged children in the area.
According to Green Crescent Trust, the ceremony saw the participation of KATI President Syed Johar Ali Qandhari and Deputy Patron-in-chief Zubair Chhya, along with numerous philanthropists and donors who support initiatives to educate out-of-school children in Sindh. The school, constructed in just five months, represents the 170th educational facility established by the GCT across the province, serving over 32,199 students from deprived backgrounds.
GCT CEO Zahid Saeed expressed his appreciation for the continued support from the KIA’s industrialists and business community, which has been instrumental in the non-profit’s 30-year mission to expand educational access. The new facility in Sharifabad is part of a broader effort to ensure that children of industrial workers receive quality education, helping to uplift the community by fostering greater opportunities for future generations.
