TNFJ Calls for Government Support During Muharram, Highlights Issues in Punjab and Azad Kashmir

Islamabad: During the annual Majlis-e-Iza in Kaler Sayedan, Allama Agha Syed Hussain Makdisi of Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya (TNFJ) criticized the lack of government-established Muharram control rooms, which has reportedly led to difficulties for mourners in Punjab and Azad Kashmir. The event, focused on promoting peace and supporting international freedom movements, also served as a platform to discuss the broader implications of religious observances on public policy and human rights.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, Allama Makdisi expressed disappointment with the government’s response to the needs of the Muharram observances, emphasizing the central role of Hussainism in combating oppression through peaceful protest. He noted that despite repeated requests, the necessary support structures were either inadequately established or insufficiently publicized, impacting the conduct of mourning processions.

The gathering also passed resolutions calling for enhanced security measures in sensitive areas such as Para Chinar and reiterated support for freedom movements in Palestine and Kashmir, reflecting the interconnected nature of global and local struggles for justice.
