Bahawalpur: A significant collaboration has been established between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, aiming to enhance academic and cultural exchanges. This partnership includes Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) focused on student exchanges and initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, the agreements were signed in the presence of key faculty members from both institutions. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Islamia University, hosted Associate Prof. Dato Dr. Mohd Izhar Ariff Mohd Kashim, Deputy Dean of Industry and Community Network at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The event marked a commitment to expanding educational opportunities and fostering global cooperation.
The MOUs will enable students from both universities to participate in exchange programs, promoting an international academic environment. Prof. Dr. Salman bin Neam, Director of the SDGs Collaboration Centre (SDGsCC) at Islamia University, highlighted the importance of this partnership in advancing the global SDGs agenda through academic collaboration.
The ceremony also included discussions on potential research collaborations and joint initiatives that could benefit students and faculty alike. Dr. Mariam Abbas Soharwardi, Additional Director of SDGsCC, and other department chairs were present to support the expansion of these international academic networks.
