Zone-VI Clinches Title in PCB Regional Inter District U-19 Cricket Tournament

Karachi: Zone-VI emerged as the champions of the PCB Regional Inter District Under-19 Cricket Tournament for the Karachi Region, decisively defeating Zone-V by nine wickets. The tournament culminated at the KCCA Stadium where Zone-VI showcased a dominant performance, with last year’s champions, Zone-VII, finishing as runners-up.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the final match featured remarkable performances, including unbeaten centuries from Umar Farooq, who scored 135, and Zain Jafri, who added 123 runs, propelling Zone-VI to a swift victory. Zone-V managed only 49 runs before being bowled out, setting an easy target which Zone-VI chased down with a loss of just one wicket in 7.1 overs.

The tournament also highlighted other notable matches. In another game at Landhi Gymkhana Ground, Zone-II overcame Zone-I by 113 runs, thanks to the same pair of Farooq and Jafri, who scored 135 and 123 runs respectively. Their efforts helped Zone-II set a formidable target of 311 runs, which Zone-I failed to meet, collapsing at 198 all out.

In a third key match at the UBL Sports Complex, Zone-III defeated Zone-IV by three wickets in a closer encounter. Zone-IV was all out for 139, with Zone-III chasing down the target with seven wickets down, underscored by M. Salman’s pivotal 68 not out.
