Dow University Announces Travelling Fellowships for General Surgery Trainees at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust Hospital

Islamabad: Dow University of Health Sciences has opened applications for two travelling fellowships at the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust Hospital in the UK for postgraduate trainees in General Surgery for the year 2025. This program is designed to provide international training opportunities to enhance the surgical skills of its postgraduates.

According to Dow University of Health Sciences, The fellowships are coordinated in collaboration with the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and the International Medical Relief Agency, IMRA UK. Prof. Khurshid Akhtar, Director of the Overseas Doctors Training Program for the Northern Care Alliance in Manchester, will direct the fellowships.

Interested candidates, who must be in their second or third year of postgraduate training in general surgery, are required to demonstrate proficiency in English and submit several documents by August 25, 2024. These include an updated CV, a postgraduate committee letter confirming their training year, a 250-word paragraph on their motivations and expected benefits from the fellowship, and a recent passport-sized photograph. Applications must be submitted in both soft and hard copies to the Office of Directorate of Global Engagement at Dow Medical College.
