Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Constructs 75 Bamboo Houses for Flood Victims in Dadu, Pakistan

Karachi, 15 Oct 2023: In the wake of the catastrophic 2022 floods in Pakistan, Al-Mustafa Welfare Society has collaborated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan and Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation to construct and deliver 75 bamboo houses to flood victims in Dadu, one of the hardest-hit districts in Sindh province.

Through the generous sponsorship of the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the expertise of the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation, these houses aim to offer a refuge for those whose lives were upended by the floods. Designed specifically to endure severe weather conditions, the bamboo houses ensure a secure and comfortable habitat for the displaced families.

This collaboration symbolizes international unity and cooperation during crises. Al-Mustafa Welfare Society expressed its profound thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan for its substantial contribution and consistent backing in this endeavour. The society further conveyed its appreciation to the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation for its critical role in actualizing the project, ensuring the bamboo constructions catered aptly to the needs of the flood-hit communities.

By handing over these bamboo homes, significant strides are evident in the recovery process for flood victims in Pakistan.
