UVAS Hosts Successful Pets Gala and Panchi Mela

LAHORE: Vets Care Club of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore organized its fifth annual Pets Gala and Panchi Mela at the City Campus Main Lawn, drawing a large crowd of faculty and students. The event featured a variety of colorful parrots and various species of dogs and cats, emphasizing the university's commitment to animal care and welfare.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the event was inaugurated by UVAS Registrar Sajjad Hyder, alongside retired Associate Professor Dr. Syed Saleem Ahmad, Dr. Zia Ullah Mughal, President of the Pakistan Feline Club Mr. Ahmad Tasleem, and Mr. Zaki Naeem. Sajjad Hyder commended the students for their organizational efforts and expressed gratitude to pet enthusiasts for their participation, which contributed to the event's success.

Attendees, including students and children, enjoyed viewing and photographing the diverse array of birds and pets. A beauty contest for pets was held as part of the festivities, with shields awarded to the contest winners and sponsors by Dr. Syed Saleem Ahmad. The event highlighted the university's role in fostering a community of animal lovers and raising awareness about pet care.
