LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and Go Dairy Private Limited (GDPL) have formalized a partnership to enhance agricultural and animal husbandry technologies in Pakistan. The agreement, signed by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani and Go Dairy CEO Dur Muhammad Ayub, aims to foster collaboration on technology transfer and capacity-building projects.
According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the memorandum of understanding will facilitate the introduction of sheep in-vitro fertilization (IVF) technology in Pakistan, as well as cow-calf operations and dairy processing. Additionally, the partnership will focus on bringing high-yielding bovine breeds to the Pakistani market for both milking and fattening purposes. UVAS will provide technical expertise and support to Go Dairy in optimizing nutrition technology and feed formulations for layer farming operations. In return, Go Dairy will offer apprenticeship training opportunities to UVAS graduates.
Senior faculty members from UVAS and officials from Go Dairy were present at the signing ceremony, reflecting the commitment of both institutions to advance the agricultural sector in the region.
