Sargodha: The University of Sargodha recently hosted a significant job fair that connected over 500 students and graduates with employment and internship opportunities through interactions with more than 120 national and multinational companies. The event, which saw company representatives conducting on-the-spot interviews, provided a vital platform for students to engage with industry professionals and gain insights into market-driven skills.
According to University of Sargodha, the event was a collaborative effort by the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC), Placement Office, and Career Development Centre. It was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Member of the National Assembly Iram Hamid, with the presence of Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, along with deans, directors, faculty members, and a large number of students.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas highlighted the initiative as one of the largest job fairs in Pakistan, emphasizing the university's dedication to preparing students for professional challenges by fostering connections between academia and industry. He reiterated the importance of equipping graduates with skills that meet market demands and appreciated ORIC's efforts in organizing the event.
MNA Iram Hamid praised the university's role in bridging education with the professional world, underlining the importance of providing the youth with opportunities to showcase their potential. Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal noted that the participation of leading companies from various sectors enabled students to connect directly with potential employers, enhancing their employability.
