Lahore: A strategic meeting was convened by Iftikhar Hussain, President of the UCP Alumni Association, to foster collaboration between the University of Central Punjab and Sapphire Fibres Limited. The discussion aimed to enhance partnerships in sustainability, engineering innovation, and applied problem-solving to bolster talent development and institutional collaboration.
According to University of Central Punjab, the meeting featured key figures from both the academic and industrial sectors. Representing the University of Central Punjab were Dr. Hammad Naveed, Pro Rector; Dr. Athar Siddiqui, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences; Yasser Aamer Awan, Director of Takhleeq; and Mian Bazaf Shahbaz, Central Vice President of Placements at the UCP Alumni Association. Sapphire Fibres Limited was represented by Aaliya Iqbal, Chief Human Resources Officer; Sana Ehsan, Group Head of Performance Management and Talent and UCP Alumna from the Class of 2007; and Shaheer Munawar, Group Head of Compliance, EHS and Sustainability.
The meeting underscored the importance of establishing a structured partnership aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry.
