Lahore: A seminar titled "Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Younger Generation: Intellectual, Ethical and Social Challenges of the Modern World" was hosted at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, jointly organized by UET Lahore and the UET Islamic Society. The event, presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, focused on leveraging the teachings of the Seerah to address contemporary issues faced by young people.

According to the University of Engineering and Technology, the seminar featured notable addresses from former Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram Choudhary, and former Member of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Dr. Syed Ziaullah Shah Bukhari. Dr. Choudhary highlighted the preservation and universality of the Holy Quran, emphasizing its unique status as a divinely revealed scripture preserved in its original form. He underscored the interconnectedness of the Quran and the Seerah, urging the younger generation to draw upon these teachings in confronting modern challenges.

Dr. Bukhari addressed the seminar, describing the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a model of mercy for humanity. He encouraged young people to learn from the Seerah, develop their character, and become constructive members of society. Dr. Bukhari stressed that the Seerah provides comprehensive guidance for facing intellectual, ethical, and social challenges.

Presiding over the event, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir underscored the role of universities in holistic student development beyond academic instruction. He advocated for integrating moral, cultural, and spiritual values into education, highlighting the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as the ultimate role model. The Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of character building alongside academic excellence.

The seminar was attended by a significant number of deans, department heads, faculty members, and students. The event concluded with Vice Chancellor Dr. Munir expressing gratitude to participants and presenting commemorative shields to distinguished speakers and guests.
