Lahore: Professor Dr. Kafeel Ahmed has been appointed as the new Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Ahmed has a distinguished academic background, having earned his doctorate in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from the University of Leipzig in Germany. His extensive career includes roles at the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, Qassim University in Saudi Arabia, and the University of Central Punjab, where he has been a Professor and Head of Department since 2017.

According to University of Central Punjab, Dr. Ahmed has made significant contributions by implementing the Outcome-Based Education and Assessment program and achieving Level II accreditation for the BSc Civil Engineering program under the Washington Accord. His research interests include the structural performance of fly ash and bottom ash concretes, high-performance concrete, and fiber-reinforced concrete, with his work published in journals such as ACI Materials Journal and Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Ahmed has organized three international conferences focused on New Trends in Civil Engineering and has provided technical services to organizations including Packages International and the IZHAR Group. He was also considered for the Vice Chancellor position at Azad Jammu Kashmir University, Rawalpindi Women University, and the University of Chakwal.
