IIUI Anti-Harassment Committee Convenes to Address Complaints

Islamabad: A meeting of the Anti-Harassment Committee at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) was convened under the leadership of Professor Dr. Muhammad Akram, Director General of the Shariah Academy, to address ongoing harassment-related complaints.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the meeting included key figures such as Director IRI, Dean of Faculty of Languages and Literature, Professor Dr. Fauzia Janjua, Committee Secretary Mr. Ateeq ur Rehman Chughtai, and Legal Advisor Muhammad Ramzan Khan. During the meeting, Mr. Chughtai presented an agenda consisting of six items for consideration.

The Committee adhered to the guidelines set forth by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), conducting one-on-one proceedings with both complainants and the respondent. This approach was taken to ensure compliance with HEC's policies and procedural framework for handling such complaints. After thorough deliberations, decisions were made promptly in each case.

The meeting was characterized by structured discussions and a commitment to transparency and due process, aligning with institutional and regulatory standards. The Chair concluded the meeting by affirming the Committee's dedication to maintaining a safe and respectful working environment in accordance with HEC policies.
