Beijing: President Asif Ali Zardari met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, in Beijing today, reinforcing the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations. The leaders highlighted their strategic mutual trust and the importance of high-level exchanges to further practical cooperation.
According to a statement by Pakistan Peoples Party, both parties emphasized the enduring friendship between China and Pakistan, which has grown over the years. They discussed advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with a focus on science and technology, renewable energy, infrastructure, and agriculture.
The leaders described CPEC as an example of people-centric development, aiming for shared benefits and common prosperity. Discussions also covered strengthening institutional linkages through parliamentary exchanges and the CPEC Political Parties Joint Consultative Mechanism to enhance bilateral cooperation.
The meeting underscored the commitment to deepening ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration, reflecting the continued partnership between China and Pakistan.
