WWEA Celebrates 2025 Milestones Amid Global Wind Energy Growth

BONN: As 2025 concludes, the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) reflects on a year of significant advancements in the global wind energy sector. The organization extended its gratitude to its members and partners for their commitment and active engagement, which have been crucial to these achievements.

Despite a challenging global environment, wind power has solidified its role in the energy transition, evidenced by exceptional growth detailed in the WWEA Half-year Report. The association has reinforced its mission to promote wind energy globally, focusing on community involvement and equitable benefit-sharing.

Key milestones in 2025 included the enhancement of global advocacy efforts, promoting wind power in international energy and climate discussions as a viable solution for climate change mitigation. WWEA has also expanded its involvement in emerging markets, facilitating knowledge exchange and policy dialogue tailored to local needs.

The 22nd World Wind Energy Conference (WWEC2025) in China was a pivotal event, drawing 1,500 delegates worldwide. It underscored wind energy’s strategic role in future energy systems and emphasized the importance of grid integration and system flexibility.

WWEC2025 fostered international cooperation, particularly between Chinese and global stakeholders, and launched initiatives like the Global Wind Power Development Dialogue. The conference highlighted the need for wind energy expansion to be more integrated and sustainable.

Looking forward to 2026, WWEA aims to intensify advocacy for robust wind energy policies and continue fostering high standards for community engagement and environmental responsibility. The organization plans to build on the momentum of 2025 by strengthening global cooperation and creating an international network for wind power education.
