LAHORE: The Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, visited the LED Testing Facility at the Energy Centre of UET Lahore's KSK Campus. The visit focused on the laboratory’s advanced systems used for evaluating lighting equipment's performance, safety, efficiency, and durability ahead of large-scale deployment.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the facility ensures that lighting products slated for various public infrastructure applications meet technical and performance standards before approval. Prof. Dr. Munir reviewed the testing setup and learned about the laboratory's core functions, which include photometric and electrical testing, lumen output verification, color rendering assessment, and compliance with safety standards.

The laboratory's design allows for the assessment of lighting systems under demanding conditions, such as prolonged usage and heat exposure. These evaluations aim to identify substandard equipment, enhance reliability, and promote energy conservation in public lighting infrastructure.

The visit emphasized the Energy Centre's crucial role at UET Lahore's KSK Campus in offering specialized testing and quality-assurance facilities that align engineering research with infrastructure needs.
