UVAS Marks 77th Independence Day with Nationwide Celebrations

Lahore: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) commemorated Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with a series of celebrations across all its campuses, including flag-hoisting ceremonies, Quran Khawani, prayers for the martyrs, and a cake-cutting event. The main festivities took place at the City Campus in Lahore, where the university community gathered in large numbers.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the day started with Quran Khawani and prayers for the country’s martyrs and prosperity at the university mosque. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr. Muhammad Younus, alongside other faculty dignitaries, led the flag-hoisting ceremony. The event also included a symbolic gesture of solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir and Palestine.

Prof Dr. Muhammad Younus delivered a speech highlighting the significance of Independence Day, urging the community to uphold the principles of Pakistan’s founders, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. He emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering an environment of pride and remembrance.

Flag-hoisting ceremonies were similarly conducted at UVAS’s other campuses, including Ravi Campus Pattoki, CVAS Jhang, KBCMA-CVAS Narowal, and Para-Veterinary Institute Karor Lal-Eason Layyah, ensuring a unified celebration across the institution.
