UoS Mobilizes Support for Thalassemia Patients

Sargodha: In a compelling demonstration of community spirit, the University of Sargodha hosted a blood donation camp aimed at supporting individuals afflicted with Thalassemia. The event, organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs and the Blood Donation Society, emphasized volunteerism and social responsibility.

The initiative was inaugurated by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan. He was joined by Director of Student Affairs Dr. Mahmood ul Hassan, Director of Noon Business School Prof. Dr. Irfan Shahzad, Chief Security Officer Col. (R) Istiaq Ahmad, and Director of Riaz Shad Co Curriculum Forum Dr. Munir Gujjar. During his address, Prof. Dr. Awan highlighted the critical role of humanitarian efforts in cultivating a socially aware student body, noting the importance of community service in developing empathetic and responsible graduates.

Dr. Mahmood ul Hassan expressed his appreciation for the volunteers’ enthusiastic participation. He remarked, “Saving one life is equal to saving all of humanity,” underlining how blood donation provides hope to patients battling severe medical conditions.

Both students and faculty from various departments across the University participated in the event, contributing their efforts to this life-saving mission. Their collective engagement aimed to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need, underscoring the power of community action in addressing health challenges.
