Islamabad: The University of Sargodha (UoS) and Rotary Club Sargodha have joined forces to champion environmental sustainability and community development. A memorandum of understanding solidifies their commitment to these crucial areas.
The pact was formalized by UoS’s Director of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, and Rotary Club President, Rtn. Mukhtar Mirza. UoS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, along with other high-ranking representatives from both organizations, were present at the signing.
The collaboration will focus on fostering environmental responsibility through sustainable methods and conscientious natural resource management. It will also bolster community involvement through programs addressing education, healthcare, poverty reduction, and social well-being, in conjunction with environmental protection.
The Rotary Club has pledged to donate plants for UoS tree-planting initiatives. Jointly, the two entities will arrange seminars, workshops, and public awareness drives on environmental and social topics. Collaborative efforts will extend to pinpointing and executing social uplift programs, nurturing academic partnerships, and sharing research outcomes.
