Jamshoro: The University of Sindh is set to commemorate Defense Day with a special ceremony and rally on September 6, 2024, to honor the martyrs of the 1965 war. The event, which will include a procession led by Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, aims to pay tribute to the nation’s heroes.

According to University of Sindh, the celebration will be held at the Arts Faculty Building Ground, where a grand ceremony is planned. The event will be presided over by Shaikh Jamia Sindh, Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro. Following the tribute, a rally will commence from the Arts Faculty Building and proceed to the Allama II Qazi Library Chowk.

Director of the Bureau of Stags, Prof. Dr. Sanobar Rehman Sheikh, has invited teachers, students, and employees of the university to participate in the ceremony and rally, emphasizing the importance of remembering the sacrifices made for the country’s defense. This annual observance not only reflects on the historical significance of the day but also fosters a sense of national pride and unity among the participants.
