University of Sindh Awards Scholarships to 14 Students Under Prime Minister Fund

Jamshoro: The Institute of Art and Design at the University of Sindh Jamshoro has awarded scholarship checks to 14 students under the Prime Minister Fund Scholarship. The ceremony, held at the Vice Chancellor’s office, included both male and female recipients from the university.

According to University of Sindh, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro personally handed over the checks to five male and nine female students. Also present were key university figures including Registrar and Director of the Students Financial Aid Office, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ali Jariko, and other notable academic staff. Dr. Kalhoro highlighted the significant impact of the scholarship fund, which has distributed Rs. 86 crore to female students over the past four years, aiding them in continuing their education amidst rising living costs.

The Vice Chancellor noted the collaborative efforts in funding these scholarships, including contributions from federal and provincial government sources, private donors, and even the university’s own faculty through the Teachers’ Welfare Fund. This fund also assists students facing financial emergencies to ensure their education is not interrupted. Dr. Kalhoro also emphasized the importance of the university’s hostel facilities, which have enabled over 5,000 resident students to excel academically by providing them a conducive learning environment. He mentioned that the university had secured additional slots for the scholarship program, with eight more students expected to receive their checks soon.
