University of Poonch Celebrates Academic Milestones as Physics Faculty Members Earn PhDs

Rawalakot: In a significant academic achievement, two faculty members from the Physics Department at the University of Poonch, Dr. Muhammad Rashid Khan and Dr. Muhammad Iftikhar, have successfully completed their PhDs under the Faculty Development Scholarship Program of the Higher Education Commission.

According to University of Poonch Rawalakot, both scholars received their doctorate degrees from the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) and spent a year abroad as part of their research training—Dr. Rashid at the University of Technology Malaysia and Dr. Iftikhar at South Korea University. The completion of their degrees, marked by multiple publications in high-impact journals, was celebrated by the university’s leadership, including Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Zakir and Registrar Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Khan, who lauded the faculty’s commitment to advancing their expertise and contributing to the university’s standing as a leading institution with robust infrastructure and academic resources.
