Haripur: The University of Haripur commemorated Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with a series of events, including a flag hoisting ceremony, a guard of honor by the security staff, and an independence march. A memorial ceremony also took place, drawing participation from faculty, staff, students, and other community members.
According to The University of Haripur, the event featured speeches that highlighted the contributions of national heroes like Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal. Speaker Captain (Retd.) Umar Farooq spoke on the strategic importance of Pakistan and the potential of its youth, urging them to contribute significantly to national development. Another highlight was Mr. Manzoor Ahmed’s discussion on the role of Allama Iqbal in the freedom movement and his message to the youth about their responsibilities.
Registrar Riaz Muhammad expressed gratitude towards all attendees, especially the guest speakers and visitors from nearby schools. He gave special thanks to the student society “Creative Bachelor Society” and the Directorate of Administration for organizing the event, which concluded with group photographs.
