Haripur: The University of Haripur's Department of Law, in collaboration with the Provost Office, successfully held a one-day awareness session on May 14, 2026. The event focused on the role and responsibilities of Ombudsman institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was managed by the Head of the Department, Ms. Saira Ali.
According to the University of Haripur, the session featured distinguished guests, including Mr. Muhammad Younas, a retired Sessions Judge and Senior Advisor to Mohtasib KP, and Mr. Muhammad Kamran Ali, Additional Director and Focal Person for National and International Affairs. They were welcomed by Ms. Ali alongside other university officials such as Dr. Zahoor Ahmad, Director of Admissions, and Mr. Saqib Awan, Assistant Provost.
Ms. Ali opened the session by welcoming the guests and stressing the importance of applying knowledge for societal betterment. She urged students to engage in institutional processes that promote justice. The session included a lecture by Mr. Ali on the historical establishment and functions of the Ombudsman institution, highlighting its role in grievance redressal without financial burden to complainants.
Mr. Younas shared his experiences and discussed the significance of the Ombudsman’s ability to provide quick resolutions compared to traditional court systems. He emphasized the importance of community-oriented justice and encouraged students to raise awareness about these institutions.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Awan, who commended the department's efforts and encouraged further student engagement in similar events. Honorary shields were presented to the guests, and a group photograph was taken with the participants.
