LAHORE: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore held a distinctive welcome ceremony for the newly admitted students of Session 2025, marked by a creative photomontage and a human formation spelling out the year 2025.
The event, designed to honor and integrate the new students into the university community, was inaugurated by Dr. Tanveer Qasim, Public Relations Officer and Media Society Advisor. In his address, Dr. Qasim commended the students for their talent and discipline. He highlighted the importance of youth as the future of both the institution and the nation, and praised the students’ demonstration of unity and solidarity at the start of the new academic year.
Dr. Qasim noted that this tradition of welcoming new students has been a successful practice at UET for the past 13 years. He acknowledged the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir in promoting co-curricular activities, which are intended to support the comprehensive development of students.
Currently, more than 40 student societies are active at UET, providing a platform for students to engage in constructive and creative activities alongside their academic work. Dr. Qasim emphasized the university’s commitment to nurturing balanced personalities, aiming to prepare students to become responsible and competent citizens.
The ceremony’s photomontage and the human formation were a testament to the affection and connection the new students already feel for their institution, setting a memorable tone for their educational journey ahead.
