Lahore: A recent meeting of the Board of Management of the Benevolent Fund at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, chaired by Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir, resulted in the approval of financial assistance packages for A-Class employees and faculty members. The board sanctioned various forms of aid, including educational support, marriage and funeral assistance, and medical aid.
The board decided to provide monthly financial support of PKR 10,000 to 23 children of employees at the intermediate level. Additionally, 23 children pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies will receive PKR 15,000 per month. For 95 school-level children, the board approved a monthly grant of PKR 6,500.
Furthermore, a one-time marriage assistance of PKR 150,000 was approved for the daughter of one employee. Another employee received PKR 20,000 for funeral expenses. A substantial sum of PKR 1,113,066 was allocated for the medical assistance of nine employees.
An annual grant of PKR 15,000 was approved for the widow of a deceased employee, to be provided over a five-year period. In addition, children of an employee who died while in service will be awarded a monthly scholarship of PKR 6,500.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir emphasized the university’s commitment to its employees, stating that they are considered part of the UET family. He affirmed that the well-being of employees and their families remains a priority for the institution.
