UET Lahore and Pak-Austria Institute Form Alliance for Academic and Research Initiatives

Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and the Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences & Technology have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in academic and research fields. This agreement seeks to foster collaboration in engineering, technology, and allied sciences through joint research activities and strengthened institutional connections.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the MoU outlines several key areas of cooperation, including faculty and researcher exchange programs, joint supervision of postgraduate students, and co-authorship of research publications. The agreement also includes provisions for organizing joint seminars, workshops, and international conferences. Additionally, the institutions will share research facilities and other academic resources, while committing to apply jointly for research grants from both national and international funding bodies.

The agreement emphasizes the importance of industry linkages to facilitate technology transfer and clearly delineates provisions related to intellectual property rights, confidentiality, financial matters, and administrative arrangements. The MoU is set to remain in effect for five years, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement. During the signing ceremony, Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir and Rector Pak Austria Institute Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mujahid voiced their optimism that this partnership will enhance academic and research collaborations, offering valuable opportunities for students and faculty.
