Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and Dawood University of Engineering & Technology (DUET) Karachi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a National Student Exchange Program. The agreement aims to promote interprovincial harmony and national integration by allowing students to experience diverse academic cultures and pedagogical strengths.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellors of both universities, with Deans and senior faculty members in attendance. Initially, the program will include three academic disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Architecture & Planning, and Computer System Engineering. Students in these programs will participate in a semester-long exchange and undertake final year projects, with credit transfers conducted in accordance with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) policy. The program is expected to expand to include additional disciplines in future phases.

The first group of students is slated to begin the exchange in Spring 2027, providing participants from Punjab and Sindh the opportunity to engage with each other's educational environments and industrial connections.
