Lahore: A recent visit to the Space Research Center at the University of Central Punjab highlighted significant advancements in satellite and aviation data integration. The UCP Multi-Satellite Ground Station and Aviation Data Hub were demonstrated to the Pro-Rector and the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) team, showcasing its capabilities in receiving and utilizing data from multiple sources.
According to University of Central Punjab, the center's facilities integrate data from NOAA satellites for weather information captured from approximately 900 kilometers above the earth. The station also includes an educational satellite system designed for student learning and experiments within a range of about 1 kilometer. Furthermore, the hub features an ADS-B system capable of tracking aircraft within a 200-kilometer radius, complemented by connectivity with FlightRadar for comprehensive aviation data integration. Continuous upgrades and integration efforts are underway to enhance the system's applications in research and monitoring.
