Turbat University Unveils Smart Classroom with European Commission Funds

TURBAT: The University of Turbat has launched a new smart classroom, funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ CBHE RAPID Project, to enhance its digital teaching capabilities. The initiative, led by Sukkur IBA University and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Javed Ahmed Shahani, aims to strengthen online and distance learning at the institution.

According to University of Turbat, the smart classroom is equipped with advanced technology including an 86-inch IdeaHub, microphones, interactive whiteboards, e-learning tools, and high-speed internet. The facility was formally inaugurated by Advocate Bahad Jameel Dashti, Deputy Chairman, District Council Kech, with various representatives from partner institutions in attendance.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan expressed gratitude to the European Commission and partner universities for their collaboration. He noted the project's potential to enhance teaching quality and provide students with access to high-quality digital resources. Sukkur IBA University's Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ali Mirani, and Prof. Dr. Javed Ahmed Shahani highlighted the project's objectives and the availability of free education opportunities at Sukkur IBA University for students from Balochistan.

Faculty members from LUMS and IBA Karachi, who joined the ceremony virtually, discussed higher education policy developments and reaffirmed their support for the University of Turbat. Local officials praised the university's efforts, describing it as a national asset and pledged their ongoing support. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of shields to distinguished guests.
