Lahore: A two-day training session focusing on compliance with Public Procurement Rules (PPRA) and the Punjab Employees Efficiency and Accountability Act (PEEDA) concluded at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore. The event aimed to enhance the competence of administrative officers in institutional procurement and regulatory compliance.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the event at the City Campus brought together a diverse group of participants from various departments of UVAS and the Livestock Department Punjab. The training was led by Managing Director of PPRA, Ms. Sahibzadi Wasimah Umar, and former Secretary of the Services & General Administration Department (S&GAD), Siddique Akbar Minhas.

The concluding ceremony was presided over by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani, who emphasized the importance of such training sessions for administrative personnel involved in procurement and rule enforcement. Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, and Registrar Sajjad Hyder also attended the event. Certificates were distributed to all participants who completed the training.

The two-day program covered a range of topics including the PPRA regulatory framework, procurement planning, eligibility criteria, selection of procurement methods, bid evaluation, contract management, and complaint resolution. Additionally, the training provided an overview of the PEEDA Act, covering recruitment, employee responsibilities, departmental inquiries, and the preparation of inquiry reports. Participants also received guidance on e-PADS and various aspects of appeals and reviews under the PEEDA Act.
