Sindh Ministers to Launch Education Complex in Mehrabpur

KARACHI: Two members of the Sindh Cabinet, Home and Law Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, are set to inaugurate a new Education Complex in Mehrabpur. The facility, created by the non-profit Green Crescent Trust (GCT), aims to provide schooling for 600 children from disadvantaged communities.

The Education Complex marks a significant step in GCT’s mission to educate children in underserved areas of Sindh. The organization has been active for 31 years, operating 173 schools across remote and underprivileged areas in the province. Currently, GCT enrolls 34,660 students, with over 40 percent being girls. In Mehrabpur, GCT already runs 11 schools, serving more than 2,200 students.

Zahid Saeed, CEO of GCT, expressed gratitude to donors, the provincial government, and the Sindh Education Foundation for supporting the Trust’s initiatives. He acknowledged the efforts of Ministers Lanjar and Ghani for their involvement in the inauguration, emphasizing their commitment to educating children from deprived communities.

Saeed also noted the contributions of Sindh’s Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah towards improving school education in the province.

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for August 9 in Mehrabpur and is expected to draw representatives from the provincial government, development partners, philanthropists, and community stakeholders.
