Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians Nayyer Hussain Bukhari Condemns Attack on Acting President of Azad Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD: Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, has strongly condemned the assassination attempt on the Acting President of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, in Constituency 5, Khawara, Muzaffarabad.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Bukhari, in his remarks to the media, described the incident as an attack on a constitutional office and urged immediate action against the perpetrators. He highlighted the context of the situation, citing the apparent success of PPP candidates in the Muzaffarabad Division elections following a public gathering led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Bukhari accused opponents of attempting to undermine the electoral process due to fears of a PPP victory. He criticized the creation of obstacles intended to deter voter participation and dismissed attempts to intimidate the party as ineffective.

Bukhari underscored the importance of respecting democratic principles by allowing voters to exercise their rights without intimidation. He called upon the Election Commission to ensure a secure voting environment and mentioned that complaints had already been submitted to the Azad Kashmir Election Commission. Bukhari urged the Chief Election Commissioner to take necessary actions to maintain order during the electoral process.
