Scotland and Sri Lanka Secure Warm-Up Victories Ahead of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup

Dubai: As teams gear up for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Scotland and Sri Lanka recorded convincing wins in their warm-up matches against Pakistan and Bangladesh, respectively. Scotland, led by Kathryn Bryce’s three-wicket haul, chased down a target of 135 with ease, while Sri Lanka, bolstered by Sugandika Kumari’s hat-trick, overcame Bangladesh by 33 runs.

According to International Cricket Council, Scotland’s victory was highlighted by a standout performance from the Bryce sisters. Captain Kathryn Bryce’s tight bowling restricted Pakistan to 134 for nine, while Sarah Bryce anchored the chase with an unbeaten 58. The sisters’ efforts ensured Scotland reached their target comfortably, enhancing their confidence ahead of their World Cup campaign.

In another match, Sri Lanka demonstrated their prowess by posting a total of 143, thanks to significant contributions from Hasini Perera and Nilashika Silva. Bangladesh, struggling against Sri Lanka’s sharp bowling, managed only 110 in reply, with Kumari’s hat-trick proving pivotal in curtailing their innings.

The warm-up games, held in Dubai, are part of the teams’ final preparations for the upcoming tournament, where they aim to carry forward their momentum and refine their strategies.
