Kent: Test off-spinner Sajid Khan has withdrawn from the Shaheens’ tour of England following a thumb fracture sustained during a training session. The injury occurred at the Tonbridge School Ground in Kent, leading to his immediate removal from the team’s lineup.
The Pakistan Shaheens are scheduled to play against the Professional County Club Select XI in the first of three one-day matches today at the Kent County Cricket Ground in Beckenham. Despite the setback, the team management has not sought a replacement for the injured player.
Sajid Khan is set to return to Pakistan on the earliest available flight. Upon arrival, he will receive additional treatment at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The injury has raised concerns about the team’s strategy as they move forward in the series without one of their key players.
